Neve Shir Ensemble - Petach-Tikva

The 'Neve-Shir Ensemble' is, in fact, the evolution of the legendary 'Neve-Shir Choir', one of the pioneers of children's and youth choirs in Israel, which was established in 1961 in Petach Tikva, by its distinguished founder and educator, the late Nathan Margalit.

Anat Dor (Margalit), Nathan's niece, who sang in the choir as a child and who is an established educator and a music teacher herself, assembled in 2006 all past singers of 'Neve-Shir' for a festive concert in memory of Nathan Margalit, who had passed away in 1988.

After 18 years of silence, the Mayor of Petach Tikva, Mr. Yitzchak Ochayon made the singers' dream come true, by supporting the renewal of the choir's activity, this time under the leadership and musical baton of Anat Dor.
Today, the re-united group, 'Neve-Shir Ensemble', has become a significant, family-like team, and an appreciated voice in the musical arena.

The 'Neve-Shir Ensemble's activities are sponsored by the cultural department of the municipality of Petach Tikva. The Ensemble has a wide repertoire, spanning classical creations of world music, contemporary music, Israeli music, some of it created especially for 'Neve-Shir', and also songs from Jewish and International folklore, sung in their original languages. The Ensemble participates in concerts, musical conferences, municipal ceremonies and a variety of other events.
